Adonis aestivalis
Summer adonis, from the Buttercup Family, used to be a common sight in wheat fields but has now disappeared in Belgium and the Netherlands. It is an easy annual. Sow on site in March/April. The plant will self-seed easily in a sunny spot in well drained soil. The little scarlet flowers with dark heart stand out well against the finely indented, fern-like foliage. An excellent bee plant. Height: 20-40 cm.
