BLUE BORDER
CHAUMONT-SUR-LOIRE late September 2011
The Garden Festival in Chaumont-sur-Loire is an annual event for all senses. Not only that, there you can find 20 plots with winning themed gardens, which are a feast for eye and a source of inspiration, every year around the castle and the farm you can also see splendidly landscaped borders usually consisting of annual plants. There is such a large amount of different plants used, that you discover new species every time. This show goes on from beginning of May until mid October.
This 'blue border' consists mainly of Salvia's, both annuals and orangery plants, completed with grasses and blue flowering annuals in early summer. The image, taken in late September, shows that a garden full of annuals is never boring, because every month the border looks different. Moreover, it requires much less care than it is generally believed, because of the specific planting method and compactness that gives weeds no chance.
Large or small, this special planting method is suitable for every garden. It also looks good in public parks. If you feel ready for an adventure in your own garden or for a special project, send us the exact measurements of the surface that you would like to cover and we will send you a precise quote within a week.
