Dipsacus fullonum , the large teasel, is a biennial plant that should not be missing in any natural garden – this species blooms with the typical spiky seed heads with small lilac flowers, and sows itself well in all soils. The faded seed heads also give a beautiful silhouette in winter. Teasel blooms from July to September.

Sow directly in open ground from April to June.

Native to Europe, it grows well in poor soil in sun to partial shade.
