Dolichos lablab , this runner bean is a fast growing climber for a warm, sheltered place. It blooms in late summer with beautiful purple-pink flowers, which contrast nicely with the very dark leaves. The dark purple seed pods are also very decorative. It grows quickly and fills a pergola or fence with color. The bean bush blooms from July to September. Pruning is only necessary to guide its growth.

Sow indoors from April and plant outdoors after the last frost.

Native to tropical Africa, this plant grows best in a warm, sunny spot.
