Eschscholzia caespitosa 'Sundew' , also known as yellow poppies, are smaller than the well-known species and have even finer incised, fresh green leaves. They flower very richly with light yellow, very small poppies. The plant flowers from June to October. Poppies require little maintenance and thrive in poor, dry soil.

Direct sowing in open ground is possible from April to June. They sow themselves well in well-drained soil.

Native to the drier parts of California, it grows best in sunny, dry spots with well-drained soil.
