Eschscholzia californica 'Apricot Chiffon', or better known as California Poppies, are small poppies with grey, fern-like leaves that remain decorative for a long time even without flowers. The original California poppy is orange, but this variety has carmine red single flowers that open in sunlight and close in shade or evening. Flowers from June to September.
Sow directly in the open ground from April to June. They sow themselves year after year in the garden, often before winter
Native to California, this plant grows best in dry, sunny spots in well-drained, poor soil.
