Ipomoea tricolor/purpurea 'Crimson climber' is a fast growing annual climber of tropical origin, with large funnel-shaped rose-red flowers with a light heart, for a very warm and sunny spot, also in large pots (for a richer flowering and less leaf formation) - up to 4m. Flowers from July to October. Requires a climbing frame or fence to grow against.

Sow indoors in March, plant out outdoors in May.

Native to tropical America, it likes sunny spots and nutritious, well-drained soil.
