Ipomoea tricolor/purpurea 'Kniola's Black' is a fast growing annual climber of tropical origin, with large funnel-shaped dark purple to black flowers, for a very warm and sunny spot, also in large pots (for a richer flowering and less leaf formation) Flowers from July to October. Requires a trellis or fence to grow up - grows to 4m.

Sow indoors in March, plant out outdoors in May.

Native to tropical America, it likes sunny spots and nutritious, well-drained soil.
