Leonotis leonurus , 'Lion's Ear' are tall plants (up to 3m) with striking orange flowers, which are arranged in whorls on the stems. The flowers open one by one from the round balls. Beautiful accent plant, which blooms in warm summers until far into autumn. This exotic plant adds height and colour to borders. Blooms from July to October. Regular pruning keeps the plant compact.
Sow indoors in March and plant out in May.
Originally from South Africa, this 'wild dagga' was used for the euphoric effect of flowers and leaves. It prefers sunny, well-drained soil.
