Linaria purpurea , or toadflax, is a biennial, sometimes perennial plant with slender, purple inflorescences that sows itself everywhere in the garden, without being a nuisance; bees and butterflies love it. Very nice cut flower for full sun. The fine, airy bloom fits perfectly in natural or cottage-style gardens.

Sow directly in open ground from March to May.

Blooms from July to October. Regular pruning promotes longer blooming.

Native to southern Europe, grows well in sunny to semi-shaded spots with well-drained soil.
