Nemophila discoidalis , or woodland sweetheart has smaller dark purple to black flowers with a white edge, a dramatic addition to garden designs. Ideal as a ground cover or in pots for a more playful and fresh look.

Sow directly outdoors in April or May.

Blooms from June to August. Water regularly during dry periods.

Native to North America, it likes filtered sunny to semi-shaded spots which will extend flowering.
