Nepeta subsessilis , or catnip, is a perennial plant. The plant is strongly branched, with stems full of lavender-blue flowers. The plant has a fresh scent and is not only attractive to cats, but also to all kinds of butterflies and insects. The seeds are true to type, so easy to propagate.
Sow indoors in March-April, or directly outdoors in May.
Already the first year of sowing in bloom from June to September. Keep the soil slightly moist. Cut back after the first bloom for a 2nd bloom later in the year.
Native to Asia, grows well in sunny to semi-shaded spots.
A low-maintenance choice for a natural and fragrant border.
