The Persicaria capitata , also known as knotweed, is a ground-covering, hardy perennial. It is known for its decorative, pink, globular flowers and attractive, marbled leaves. Annual plant or pot plant with decorative leaves, dark green with brown markings, which turn red when it gets cold in late autumn - it easily forms large carpets, also over tiles, This plant spreads quickly and covers bare spots in no time.
Excellent as a ground cover or for rock gardens. Often used in urban landscaping due to its low maintenance nature.

Sow in spring in moist, well-drained soil. The seeds need a constant temperature of around 20°C to germinate well.
