The Scabiosa atropurpurea 'Fire King' , or pigeonweed, is a charming annual plant with graceful, ball-shaped flowers in fiery red. These flowers are popular with butterflies and bees.
Perfect for borders, cutting gardens or wildflower meadows. The flowers are ideal as cut flowers and dry beautifully for arrangements.
Sow directly outdoors in spring or indoors at 18-20°C. Cover seeds lightly. Seedlings can be planted out after the last frost.
This plant likes a sunny spot with well-drained, fertile soil. It flowers from summer to early autumn and grows to about 60-90 cm tall.
