The Succisa pratensis , or blue button, is a native perennial with round, dark blue, round, scabiosa-like flowers. It blooms from August/September to autumn and is loved by butterflies and bees.
Ideal for wildflower meadows, borders and natural gardens. It combines beautifully with other native plants.
Sow directly in the open ground in the autumn. The seeds need a cold period to germinate. The plant may need several months to establish itself. Later it sows itself abundantly.
Blue button likes sunny or lightly shaded spots with moist but well-drained soil. It grows to about 60 cm high.
This plant is native to Europe and grows in damp grasslands and along forest edges.
