Ammobium alatum (Winged everlasting)

Ammobium alatum is a pretty perennial that is native to Australia . It has white flowers with a yellow heart of small tube-like petals that changes colour to black after blooming. The leaves are a silvery grey. Ammobium alatum is cultivated mainly as a cut flower.  It may be sown under glass from mid-April, or simply where you want it to grow from early May. It tolerates full sun as well as partial shade. Height: up to 90 cm.
