Calendula officinalis 'Ivory Princess', or marigold, is an annual plant with cheerful cream-coloured flowers that not only bring colour, but can also appear surprisingly every year. Although it is not officially a perennial, it sows itself so easily that it sometimes comes back spontaneously. In the summer months of June to October, marigold blooms abundantly. The marigold has a rich history as a medicinal plant.

Marigolds in the garden are suitable for flower meadows. It is also an ideal plant for bees. It is a good nectar plant for wild bees and honeybees. Unfortunately, hoverflies and bumblebees cannot reach the nectar, but the plant is important for various moths.
