Ricinus communis ‘New Zealand Purple’ is a spectacular foliage plant with large, deep purple-red to almost black leaves that instantly create an exotic atmosphere. The hand-shaped leaves have a slight sheen and form a striking contrast with other plants in the border. In summer, inconspicuous flowers appear, followed by decorative, spiky seed pods in reddish hues.

This fast-growing plant is often used as an annual and can reach impressive heights in a single season. Ideal as a focal point in borders or as a solitary specimen.
