Alcea rosea ‘Double Majorette’ is a compact hollyhock with richly filled, double flowers reminiscent of small roses. The flowers appear close together along the sturdy stems and are available in warm, soft shades. The leaves are palmate and slightly hairy, giving the plant a classic, cottage-like appearance. Hollyhocks originate from Asia and have been popular in farm and city gardens for centuries. 'Double Majorette' is particularly suitable for borders and as a background plant, but also looks good in larger pots. The flowers attract bees and butterflies and give a nostalgic atmosphere to any garden.

Zet de planten op in winderige plek en plant ze ruim uit elkaar om de luchtcirculatie te verbeteren en ziekten te voorkomen. 

Stokrozen kunnen meerjarige zijn, snij hiervoor de plant terug na de bloei en laat enkele stengels staan zodat ze zichtzelf kunnen uitzaaien. Plant en/ of zaai op  vruchtbare, zeer goed doorlatende grond. Ze verdragen geen doorweekte, natte bodems, vooral niet in de winter.
