‘Jewel Cherry Rose’ is a compact variety with cherry-red flowers. This type grows well in containers and flower beds. Originally from South America, it is valued not only for its ornamental appeal: both the flowers and leaves are edible and have a mildly peppery flavour. The seeds are also edible and, once pickled, can be used as a substitute for capers.
