The Amaranthus tricolor 'Flaming Fountain' or the leaf amaranth, is a decorative plant that stands out because of its brightly colored leaves from dark green to red, over copper color to yellow, with inconspicuous flower spikes. It blooms from June to September and grows 60-120 cm high.
Ideal for borders and pots, where it provides a colourful accent. It is also very useful as a striking leaf in bouquets but is also edible; the leaves are nutritious and can be cooked, stewed or eaten raw.
