Searching salvia in biennials
Biennials take two years to complete their life cycle. In the first year, they develop deep roots and grow abundant foliage, while reserving their flowering for the following year. In the spring to early summer of the second year, they bloom early and fill the garden with flowers, even before the summer bloomers get going. After flowering, they produce seeds that fall to the ground and germinate to continue the cycle. Biennials are valuable in flower meadows, borders, and food forests, serving as a bridge between annuals and perennials.
